bugger, bugger, bugger

Oh I am so disapointed, my legs hurt again, I tried to run yesterday and had to return home as the insides of both my lower legs hurt, I suspect the achilles again. So that is it for me with outdoor running, it isnt practical for me to find a trail so once healed it will be the treadmill for me, or hiking the hills

I really love to run outdoors but cannot afford to get injured every 3 or 4 weeks and then be off my feet for weeks - very frustrating. I gave it my best shot and did some great mileage but now, I will try and rest a week and hope I heal quickly and then hit the treadmill

fun in the ....rain??

OK, so it was spitting today but today was different, I had a running partner today - it would be so nice to run with someone for a change, I know I run faster when i am with someone and we can chat - except not on the hills.

So not to be lazy I ran and met my friend at her house and off we went. 3.4 miles and we were back at her house, slightly soggy from the drizzle but a good distance under our belts and I ran home which meant my total run was 4.6miles

Another not bad run!!!

So far so good!! Next run, it has to be 6miles or more, got to keep up the pace!!

Is it easy??

So, today I got myself moving and setting myself a goal of a 5K off I ran, I decided to run a route I have not ran in a while (about 2 weeks) just to see if I had "picked up my pace" the result - I am pleased to tell you was a personal best at 5k - that was something to make me feel very pleased as I chose a route with hills and that can slow my pace a bit, so I am getting stronger and I am enjoying the runs.

It is still not that "easy" to get out there, this morning I ran hoping to "beat" the rain, my thighs all cold and frozen at the start soon warmed up - which did not happen on saturday when i did my 5 miles!!, I did however forget my tissues which resulted in me using my sleeve ---oohhhh - you do what you need to do.

I really did enjoy my music this morning, who cant speed up pace listening to "lovecats" by the cure or "the hustle"

So, if you have any motivation, come join me on the trail!!!!

If we do it in crappy weather, it can only get better!!!

SURPRISE

Well, today I was a little tired and after my late night i didnt want the pressure of having to run and be back in time to start work so I opted to go after work - but Isecretly knew that would not happen.

I finished work and went to lunch and after finishing all my paperwork I thought "what the hell - give it a go"

I told Simon I would be back probably just after 2 miles as I had eaten a big meal and it is pretty cold outside, but off I went and keeping my pace down (aka don't start to quick) I started my run, and I kept going was trying to run to go till my nike plus told me I had reached 2 miles, it did but I kept going not wanting to turn around, I did after dixie elementry and trundled back home and to my surprise my little man announce the 4 mile mark and I wasnt even home - what a bonus.

The run was good, my legs felt cool and my nose kept dripping but getting home and recognising that I have ran my longest distance in 5 months made me grin from ear to ear, i can hardly wait till monday!!

I also achieved a personal goal set on nikeplus.com too so pretty good day

OK OK

Running was on the schedule today and I wanted to make a good effort. I set my challange at 3.5 miles, I wanted to run at least that i have been flating around the 2- 2.5 mileage and really want it increased.

When I woke this morning I was - to say the least "a little muggy headed" after too much vino last night. Not a good start, I did consider delaying my run but I felt I should go and hope for the best.

Boredom is a big issue on my runs so I choose my routes carefully, today I opted to run along lucas valley to Huckleberry and then up to idelberry and then looping around back onto last gallinas, and I made it - next time I run that loop I want to go to Mount lassen and round probably not much further but gradually increasing my mileage and staying consistant with 3-4 times a week running!!
All in all I had a couple of small stitches but ran all the mileage and finished with my best 5k time ever - you can't knock that!

YES I am out of shape but I am trying to get back into it and the more I do the easier it will become and the faster and longer I will be able to run!!

Another run

So I managed to get out and run, didnt quite meet my target mileage but an appointment (with a nutritionalist) I was at ran late which then that left me short of time, another 2 3/4 run which is better than nothing and it did feel good, I think I went out a bit too quick though, will analyse it later, actually quite excited to run on thursday

I made it

Yes, I know it is still early in my "training schedule" but...I managed to get up and run, it is always the hard decision, stay in your nice comfy bed warm and cosy or get dressed head out in the cold and rain and run!!

Unable to decide over both of those I met it half way by running at the gym then a step class after!!

That was for me a great start to the day!!!!
